Dog Cookies-7a

Dog Cookies

We lost our Heidi-girl.  Our sweet old dog, who was my constant companion, passed away a few weeks ago.  I didn’t realize how much a part of my life she was until, one day, she just wasn’t.

This is hard to write about but I realized how many pictures and posts she had appeared in – even my business logo features her!  I felt like I needed to let you know.  In honor of my little girl, I thought I’d share her favorite treat recipe with you to share with your companion:

Dog Cookies

8oz can of tuna

1/2 c. chopped parsley

3 eggs, with shells

1/2 c. sesame seeds

1/2 c. ground flax seed meal

2 – 3 c. whole wheat flour

-Blend all ingredients together except for the flour.

-Slowly knead in flour until pie crust consistency.

-Roll out & cut into pieces.

-Bake at 375˚ for 20 min or until lightly browned.

Dog Cookies-11Try to avoid those pathetic begging eyes until the treats are cool enough to eat.

**Make sure to store these in the fridge since they have canned fish in them! **

  1. Oh, Emily, I am so sorry to hear about Heidi. I remember her coming to my back deck to say hello, such a sweet soul. And I’ll never forget her dressed up and marching with you in the Halloween Parade! What a blessing in your life and yours was the best family ever for Heidi to spend her life with. Love and prayers.

    1. Thank you Ruth! We have missed having you as neighbors. Thank you for remembering Heidi with us:)

  2. So sorry for your loss. Brings tears to my eyes. Our fur babies are part of our families and it is so hard to lose them. May God comfort your heart in this time of loss. May her memories carry you through your pain.
